AI & Machine Learning

I build machine learning
that holds up.

I'm a Computer Science student and AI researcher working on medical imaging and applied machine learning. I care about rigorous evaluation — honest baselines, no data leakage, and results you can trust. Below: what I'm into, where I've worked, and a few projects with full case studies.

01

Education

  1. 2024 — Present

    University of Birmingham

    BSc Computer Science

Coursework spanning AI/ML, algorithms, and software engineering.

  2. 2021 — 2023

    St Brendan's Sixth Form College

    A-Levels: Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics

Foundation in computing and the sciences.

02

Experience

  1. Jun 2026 — Present

    University of Birmingham

    AI Research Intern

Own Stage 1 of a multi-stage NHS research programme predicting treatment response in wet AMD. Adapted RETFound (a ViT-Large retinal foundation model) to detect intraretinal fluid, subretinal fluid, and pigment epithelial detachment from OCT scans; ran an ablation across four fine-tuning strategies and enforced eye-level train/test splits across 3,049 B-scans from 156 eyes to remove patient-level leakage.

  2. Sep 2024 — Jul 2025

    Filipino Society, University of Birmingham

    President

Led a 9-person committee and acted as the main representative to the student union. Drove a 500% increase in sponsorships, 200% budget growth, and record membership, while running event logistics, risk assessments, and collaborations with societies across the UK.

  3. Jul 2024

    JPMorgan Chase (Forage)

    Software Engineering Job Simulation

Restored web-app functionality by debugging and refactoring repository files, and built a real-time data-visualisation dashboard with Perspective for monitoring financial feeds. Worked with Agile workflows, Git version control, and API integration.

  4. Dec 2023 — Jul 2024

    Filipino Society, University of Birmingham

    Social Secretary

Planned cross-society events and served as the main point of communication, briefing committees on logistics. Created promotional content and semester event timelines that grew the society's following by over 15%.

  5. Jul 2023 — Oct 2023

    J D Wetherspoon

    Kitchen Assistant

Supported kitchen operations by restocking ingredients and equipment and keeping a clean, organised workspace. Adhered to food safety and hygiene regulations throughout preparation and storage, working collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain high standards.

  6. Oct 2022 — Jul 2023

    St Brendan's Sixth Form College

    Student Ambassador

Toured prospective students and parents around campus on open days, and delivered A-Level Chemistry and Physics overview presentations — including simplified practical demonstrations — to help GCSE students understand the courses.
